ZOLL emsCharts Web 14.10

October 28, 2025

emsCharts Web was tested using the latest versions of the following browsers:

  • Chrome

  • Safari

  • Edge

  • Firefox

Important! Use of the [ LEGACY UI ] was removed for charting purposes in version 14.05 of emsCharts Web, but can still be used for some Code Tables and configurations. All new features, enhancements, and bug fixes apply to the [ ZOLL UI ]. Any exceptions will be explicitly noted.

NEMSIS 3.5.1 updates

  • We have added a new Performed by Another Unit (eProcedures.15) field in the Procedure Activity Logs. The new field and associated selections will be available in the UI, however, export of the field will begin once your state transitions to the new standard. This element captures whether a procedure was performed by someone other than the EMS unit documenting the event, such as another responding EMS crew at the scene. The distinction is required by the new standard and is not the same as a Prior to Arrival procedure.

  • We have added 'Approximate' and 'Not Applicable' options for the Date/Time Last Known Well (eSituation.18) field on Page 3. 'Unable to Complete' will remain an option but is being moved to the widget next to the field with the new values. These selections will be available in the UI, however, export will begin once your state transitions to the new standard.

  • We have added 'Approximate' and 'Unable to Complete' options for the Date/Time of Cardiac Arrest (eArrest.14) field on Page 2. These selections will be available in the UI, however, export will begin once your state transitions to the new standard.

  • We have added a new Languages (ePatient.24) field on the Patient page. The new field and associated selections will be available in the UI, however, export of the field will begin once your state transitions to the new standard. This element captures the patient's preferred language(s).

  • We have added a new Admin by Another Unit (eMedications.13) field in the Medications Activity Log. The new field and associated selections will be available in the UI, however, export of the field will begin once your state transitions to the new standard. This element captures whether a medication was administered by someone other than the EMS unit documenting the event, such as another responding EMS crew at the scene. This distinction is required by the new standard and is not the same as a Prior to Arrival administered medication.

Pertinent Negative Data Validations

We added the ability to create Data Validations for each specific Pertinent Negative field, with the exception of Page 5 Exam fields. Administrators can now enforce requirements for Pertinent Negative fields, defining either specific values or requiring any value to be selected.

Patient information imported from CAD

We have improved the way patient information is imported from CAD. Now when a CAD import matches an existing patient in the database and includes a value for either Patient ID (MRN) or Patient Run ID (Account #/CSN/HAR), those values will be added or updated on the patient's record during the import process.

This change fixes an issue where updated Patient ID or Patient Run ID values from CAD were not being imported if the patient already existed in the Service's database.

The following issues were fixed in this release:

  • Pulsara Imports: Timestamps for events imported from Pulsara were displaying the times in UTC rather than the timezone-corrected time. This change ensures that when Pulsara records are imported into emsCharts, timestamped events display the same timezone offset in emsCharts as they did in the Pulsara app.

  • Downloading XML of deleted chart: Users were prevented from accessing and downloading the XML of deleted charts.

  • Unit and Crew information: Unit and Crew information saved by a user from one Service continued to be displayed on the homepage after the user changed their login to a different Service. Now when a user selects a new Service from the Change Login field on the homepage, previous Base, Unit, and Crew information saved by that user for that Service will be cleared.

  • Hospital access to Ancestor charts: Hospitals were prevented from accessing additional related (Ancestor) charts for patients who were initially treated but not transported to their facility, but were subsequently treated and transported to their facility. Hospitals can now search for and access Ancestor charts for patients transported to their facilities, ensuring access to previous related patient encounters and facilitating continuity of care.
